What is acceptance?

Acceptance is the final confirmation by the buyer that delivered goods or services meet contract requirements and are satisfactory. It usually follows inspection, serves as a quality assurance step, reduces risk, and confirms the supplier’s right to payment, closing the transaction.

By formally accepting a delivery, the buyer confirms that the supplier has fulfilled their contractual obligations, reducing the risk of disputes and protecting both parties. It also triggers the supplier's right to payment and completing the procurement cycle.
