How Can Approval Rules be tested?

Tradogram includes a built-in tool to test approval rules and confirm whether they will trigger correctly before you roll them out.

Accessing the Test Approvals Tool

  1. From the top-right corner of the screen, click the dropdown arrow.

  2. Select Manage Branch.
  1. Navigate to the Approvals tab.

  2. Click Test Approvals.

Running a Test

In the Test Approvals window, you can simulate a transaction by selecting criteria such as:

  • Transaction Type (required)

    • Requisitions

    • Expenses

    • Contracts

    • Requests

    • Purchase Orders

    • Invoices (PO and Non-PO)

    • Budgets

  • Created By – the user who creates the transaction (required)

  • Department – the department associated with the transaction

  • Category – the item category on the transaction

  • GL Account – account linked to the items

  • Supplier – supplier linked to the transaction

  • Amount – the transaction value

Note: You do not need to fill in all options. At minimum, select a Transaction Type, Created By, and at least one additional criterion.

Results

After entering your criteria, the system will show:

  • Which approval rules will be triggered at the bottom of the screen.

  • Which approvers will be required.

  • If no approval rules are triggered, you’ll know to adjust the criteria or approval rule settings.
