What is the difference between a “Standard Purchase Order” and a purchase order “From Contract”?

When creating a Purchase Order (PO) in Tradogram, you can choose between a Standard setup or a From Contract setup. Choosing the right one ensures you are getting the best pricing and maintaining accurate records.

Standard Purchase Order

A Standard PO is used for general purchasing needs where no pre-negotiated agreement exists.

  • How it’s built: You can select items directly from your internal database or manually enter details for "one-off" external items.
  • When to use it: Use this for ad-hoc purchases or when ordering from suppliers with whom you don't have a long-term fixed-price agreement.

Purchase Order "From Contract"

A PO From Contract is used when you want to purchase items that are part of an existing, active contract already stored in Tradogram.

  • How it’s built: The system pulls the items, terms, and pricing directly from the established contract.
  • When to use it: Always use this option if a contract exists for the items you need.
