What is the difference between a distribution address and a delivery address?

A “distribution address” is mainly used for orders that need to be internally distributed to a number of different locations. Distribution addresses are particularly useful for use with requisitions. When multiple requisitions are amalgamated into a single transaction, and the delivery for that transaction is received, the item quantities that are received can be allocated to the different distribution addresses that are established on the system.

A “delivery address” is used on all forms that are shared with suppliers to indicate to the supplier where to send the goods and/or services included in the transaction. Delivery addresses are also referred to as the “ship to” address.
