What are approval criteria, and how do each of them work?

Up to five approval levels can be included in an approval process, and any number of approvers can be included on each level.

If a transaction is created that falls under certain approval criteria, that transaction will be routed to the designated approvers for the lowest level of approval first. Once the lowest level of approvals have been given, the next level of approvers will be notified. The transaction will remain in the “pending approval” status until all approvals have been granted.

The individual that created the transaction will not be able to issue or continue with the transaction process until it has received all of the required approvals and marked with the “approved” status.
