What is the request feature used for?

The Request feature is Tradogram’s dedicated module for competitive sourcing and supplier negotiation. Unlike requisitions, which manage internal needs, requests are external-facing documents designed to help you find the best value for your organization.

Core Functionality

  • Supplier Negotiations: Requests allow you to send inquiries to multiple suppliers simultaneously to solicit competitive bids.
  • Electronic Counter-Offers: Suppliers can submit their pricing, availability, and terms directly through the platform. You can then respond with subsequent counter-offers to refine the arrangement until an agreement is reached.
  • Supplier Accessibility: Suppliers do not need a Tradogram account to participate. They receive a secure email link that opens a dedicated, easy-to-use interface in their browser where they can submit their response.

Evaluation and Finalization

Once you have received responses, Tradogram provides specialized tools to ensure you make the right choice:

  • Comparison Tools: You can evaluate bids side-by-side using features like Compare Items, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), and Technical Evaluations.
  • Converting to Transactions: After finalizing terms with your preferred vendor, you can "lock in" the agreement by converting the request directly into a Purchase Order or a Contract. This ensures that the agreed-upon pricing and terms are carried over accurately.
