What are the different ways to create contracts?

In Tradogram, there are two primary methods for generating a contract. You can either build one from scratch as a standalone document or derive one automatically from a competitive bidding process.

Creating a Standalone Contract

This method is best for existing agreements or pre-negotiated terms that you want to digitize and track within the system.

  • How to Start: Click the "Create" button at the top of your screen and select "Contract." Alternatively, navigate to Transactions → Contracts and click "Create Contract" at the top right.
  • Step 1 (Scope): Define the type of contract and list the specific goods or services to be included.
  • Step 2 (Details): Select the supplier and optionally set an expiration date to receive alerts when the agreement needs renewal.
  • Finalize: Click "Create Contract" to save the document.

Creating a Contract from a Request

This method is used for new bids where the final pricing and terms are determined through a sourcing event (RFQ/RFP).

  • How to Start: Click the "Create" button and select "Request that ends in a Contract."
  • Negotiate: Add your items and invite multiple suppliers to bid.
  • Award: Once the sourcing event concludes, you can accept one or more offers. The system will automatically generate a contract using the specific terms negotiated with the winning supplier(s).
